🌿✨The Open Greeting Zone – A place to start relationships ✨🌿
Back in 2013, at the first Emerging Berlin Festival, before the physical part of Baumhaus existed, we held a prototyping edition to imagine all that Baumhaus could become. We envisioned a place for powerful talks, hands-on workshops, panel discussions, film screenings, concerts, food and collaborative projects that would inspire change. Above all else, we wanted people to connect and engage with each other in meaningful ways. This is when the Open Greeting Zone concept came to life.
Why do we need it?
Have you ever gone out to an event or happening where most everyone stays and interacts within their own group of people who they already know… Like in most places…
What is the Open Greeting Zone?
It’s more than a space – it’s an invitation. Here, its ok and totally normal to approach anyone, introduce yourself, and start a conversation. We’re all here to see how we collaboratively support each other to bring more balance into the world, each in their own ways with respect and value.
How does it work?
In the Greeting Zone, we embrace open introductions and create a setting where everyone feels welcome. It’s a place to get to know one another with genuine curiosity, letting everyone feel seen, heard, and accepted.
Why does it work?
We take a social situation that could feel intimidating – a room full of strangers – and reframe it with a cooperative focus. When people step into a welcoming environment that encourages collaboration, they naturally lower their guard, opening the door to connection and trust.
